In
the U.S. the Migratory
Bird Treaty Act (1971) necessitated the regulation of falconry since the
birds are migratory between Canada,
U.S., and Mexico.
Currently falconry is regulated by the federal government via chapter 50 of
the code
of federal regulations.
CITES (the
Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and
Flora) is an international agreement between Governments. Its aim is to
ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants
does not threaten their survival. All imports/exports between member
countries must comply with CITES regulations. ALL FALCONIFORMES ARE
PROTECTED TO SOME DEGREE UNDER THIS CONVENTION.

PETA
should mean "people eating tasty animals" but is in fact an
organization populated by clueless, joyless, guilty ignoramuses who
unfortunately have money and therefore the means to hire lawyers to advance
their communist agendas. Make no mistake - it is their intention to keep us
from pursuing the sport we love. Help keep them at bay by joining the U.S.
