Falconry is an ancient art where a falcon
is used as a hunting companion. Falconry was first recognized in China and
the Middle East to hunt wild game.
Eventually in Europe a type of caste system developed where only rich or
high ranked people in society could own raptors. Holy Roman Emperor
Hohenstaufen was the first ornithologist to study falconry. He researched
physiology, training, and hunting with raptors. His book is considered one
of best books ever written on falconry and is still used.
After the introduction of firearms the sport of falconry soon diminished
throughout the world. There are only a few thousand people in the US who
have their falconry license.
Only a few have the knowledge and experience of this long lost art. If you
